WORLD TOURNAMENT

Congratulations to the nine teams who had an opportunity to travel to the World Tournament in College Park, MD. Attending the World tournament is an amazing experienced for teams, no matter how you do in the competition. Days are filled with meeting teams from around the world, experiencing the craziness of pin trading, watching performances and sightseeing in Washington D.C. Congratulations to several of our teams who placed in the top 6 for their problem and Division:
Pin Pin Wong And Natalee Fairbanks Moraga Rotary Team placed 2nd place in problem 2, Division 3!
Debbie Sedberry's Orinda Masonic Team placed 4th place in Problem 3, Division 3!
Ana Demorest and Laura Miller's Glenview Elementary Team tied for 5th place in Problem 3, Division 1!

I(Dick) served as a head judge for Problem 4, Division 1 and the highest weight held was 1,260 lbs., held by a team from China. This next year's problem should be very interesting, with teams have a choice of various weights for the structure.

Coaches Training Dates

Coaches training dates are as follows:
Saturday, October 15 - Willow Creek Center
Saturday, November 12 - Willow Creek Center
Saturday, December 3 - Willow Creek Center
Willow Creek Center is located at 1026 Mohr Lane in Concord. New coaches attend from 8:30 to 3:00, experienced coaches attend from 1:00 to 3:00. Continental breakfast, Lunch and all materials will be provided at no cost. Online registration for coaches training will be open soon and we will email you when it is available.
We will also have experienced coaches training in Alamo and Brentwood but the dates have not yet been set.
Regional and State Tournament Date
========================
The Regional Tournament is tentatively set for Sat., Feb. 25, 2012. Location to be announced later.
The State Tournament is tentatively set for Sat., Mar. 31, 2012.
